Mustang Spirit Shines During Homecoming Week
East Lincoln High School celebrated Homecoming October 5–9 with a week of school spirit, a packed pep rally, a shutout win under the Friday night lights, and a dance to cap it all off.
Spirit Week
Students and staff found creative ways to show their Mustang pride all week. The halls filled with comfy pajamas on Pajama Day, followed by Toes Out Tuesday. Rhyme Without Reason brought out clever costume pairings, including the “Marry and Fairy” duo, and Throwback to 2016 sent everyone back a decade. Anything But a Backpack was a crowd favorite: students left their backpacks at home and carried their books in laundry baskets, storage bins, toaster ovens, tote bags, and even a tire. Teachers joined in throughout the week, proving that Mustang spirit runs through the whole building.
Pep Rally
The week built to a high-energy pep rally in the gym. The East Lincoln cheerleaders fired up the crowd, and students packed the bleachers to cheer on their classmates and get ready for Friday night.
The Game and Court
On Friday night, the Mustangs dominated Fred T. Foard, winning 44–0. The marching band and the ELHS Color Guard brought the energy, and the stands were a sea of orange and green.
At halftime, Nyla Murphy was crowned Homecoming Queen, and Jaxon Dollar was crowned Homecoming King. Congratulations to Nyla, Jaxon, and every member of this year’s Homecoming Court.
The Dance
The celebration wrapped up with the Homecoming dance in the gym, themed “Midnight in Rio.” Under the balloon arch and colored lights, students dressed up, posed for photos, and danced the night away.
Thank You
Homecoming takes a lot of people to pull off. A big thank-you to our Homecoming sponsors, the Homecoming Court, our senior football player representatives, the parade participants, and everyone who donated and drove cars, ELHS Administration, the ELHS Color Guard, our Yearbook students, and the Student Government Association. Your time and effort made this year’s Homecoming one to remember.
Go Mustangs!
