 Celebrating Success!
At the beginning of each monthly Board of Education meeting, Board members bestow special recognition to students and teachers. Students are recognized for academic, athletic, and extracurricular accomplishments, such as the Spelling Bee, Battle of the Books, Knowledge Bowl, middle and high school sports conference championships, state football playoffs, regional and state events for our choral and band programs, and competitions/special projects of our student organizations. Teachers are recognized for earning national and other special certifications and receiving grants for the classroom. Soon we will be recognizing our “Of the Year” recipients. Principal of the Year has already been announced with Rhonda Harrill, principal of Rock Springs Elementary School, receiving that award from her peers. Assistant Principal of the Year, Bus Driver of the Year, Classified Employee of the Year, Counselor of the Year, Media Coordinator of the Year, Teacher of the Year, and Volunteer of the Year will be recognized in May. There are many successes that occur every day in our classrooms and schools that may not be recognized at a board meeting but are no less important. Every day an administrator, teacher, student or staff member makes a difference for someone else. Together we celebrate the success of our district!
