Join us in celebrating an incredible educator! 🍎✨
Asbury Academy is proud to recognize Mrs. Betsy Holland as our Teacher of the Year!
Whether she’s making math come alive in the classroom, guiding students as they explore life choices, or encouraging them to discover new hobbies and passions, Mrs. Holland always leads with care and dedication. Her door is always open — and so are her arms (unless she’s holding her beloved rabbit, Dr. Flippins! 🐰💛).
Thank you, Mrs. Holland, for the wisdom, warmth, and joy you bring to our school each day. We are so grateful for the impact you make! 🎉💙

Today, Asbury Academy students attended an Asbury Works session with Kennan Eady to learn more about personality with True Colors training. Students learned how each of us has a different and unique personality but we have common ground we share. Learning more about ourselves can help us build better relationships when we interact with others.

Shout out to our students for their diligence in achieving their goals. Asbury Academy students strive daily to work on their math and reading goals to increase their own knowledge and understanding. Today, Mrs. Beckham, awarded students who met their Exact Path reading goals their prizes. We are so proud of our pirates!

⚓ Remembering Pearl Harbor,
December 7th, is National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.
On this day in 1941, an unprovoked attack on the U.S. Naval Base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, tragically took the lives of 2,403 American service members and civilians and propelled the United States into World War II.
We take this moment to honor the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of the more than 3,500 people who were killed or wounded on that "date which will live in infamy."

The third annual Friendsgiving luncheon was a huge success today. Our student leaders planned, organized, and led the entire event. We are thankful for the Lincoln County Child Advocacy Center and the Denver-Lake Norman Rotary for their ongoing support. They served some amazing food to all of our guests. On behalf of all the Asbury Pirates, we wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!

Mrs. Beckham and Asbury Academy have been awarded the Rutherford EMC Bright Ideas Grant to expand student learning in our school greenhouse!
Thanks to this funding, students will be able to plan, plant, and harvest their own crops this spring. The grant will help purchase raised beds and seeds to support hands-on, real-world learning experiences.
Teachers in both math and science classes will incorporate the greenhouse into their instruction—using planting, growing, and harvesting activities to bring math and science content to life for students.
Our students have loved working in the garden this school year, and we can’t wait to see what they accomplish next!

Today, our students proudly delivered candy to veterans within our school district and local community as a small gesture of appreciation for their service and sacrifice. 🇺🇸
As a proud Purple Star School, we are committed to supporting our military families and honoring those who have served our country. This act of service allowed our students to show gratitude while building connections within our community.
We were thrilled to have students from West Lincoln High School join us in this effort- teamwork and kindness truly make a difference! 🙌
A special thank you to Color My World Painting for their generous donation that made this project possible. 💜
We are grateful for our veterans today and every day. Thank you for your courage, your sacrifice, and your service.

Sam worked all day and still showed up to Asbury’s new after-school program rocking those work boots like it was a fashion statement. 🤠📚 We couldn’t be prouder of the hard work he’s putting in toward his high school diploma. Boots, books, and big goals—that’s progress worth celebrating! 👏.
