The Careers on Wheels event brings community professionals and their work vehicles directly to the students, offering them a chance to see firsthand how different careers operate outside the classroom. From emergency services to construction, technology, and beyond, the 7th graders were able to learn about the wide range of jobs that keep our communities running smoothly.
Our 7th graders got the chance to meet these professionals and continue their exploration of career opportunities. The event offers a deeper look at potential pathways as they begin thinking more seriously about their future education and career options. As students rotated through each station, they spent time with each community partner, engaging in discussions about career paths, job responsibilities, and the skills needed to succeed. Many professionals brought their vehicles, allowing students to explore how these tools are essential in their day-to-day work.
We’d like to give a special thank you to the incredible community partners who made today such a success:
MBA Roofing
Lake Electric
Lincoln County EMS
Queen Transportation
Kintegra
Daikin HVAC
Chick-fil-A
Blum
NC Forest Service
Atrium
Lincoln County Public Works
Their time and dedication to helping our students explore exciting career paths is truly appreciated. Thanks to their efforts, today’s event was a huge success in inspiring the next generation of leaders and professionals!

ELMS won the 2024 Tri-county golf championship for the third consecutive year, while also going undefeated for the third consecutive year. The team score was 172. Kennedy Gallantine was the medalist of the day with a score of even-par 36 and the only golfer, who scored under 40. Sloane McKinney had the third best score with a 41 followed by teammates Brayden Flynn- 46 and Bryson Miller- 49.
With the win, Kennedy becomes the first golfer in the conference (at least within the last eight years) to play for a full three years with the team not suffering a loss.
