Ms. Holly Drake Joins the NLHS Admin Team
Hi NLHS Community! I am incredibly excited to be the Assistant Principal at NLHS! I was born and raised in upstate New York. I obtained my bachelor's degree from Siena College before moving to Houston, Texas to pursue an opportunity with Teach for America. After spending 14 wonderful years in Texas, my family and I decided to move to this area to be closer to our extended family. I spent the last 3.5 years as an Assistant Principal in Catawba County. I live in Maiden with my husband, James and our two children — Aiden (4) and Olivia (1). Being at North Lincoln is truly an honor, and I am incredibly excited to get to know our students, families, and community members. If you see me around, come say hi! I can't wait to meet you.

Subject: CTE Seniors– ACT WorkKeys Assessment
Dear Seniors and Families of CTE Seniors,
It is the expectation of North Lincoln High School that all CTE seniors participate in the ACT WorkKeys assessment. This assessment provides valuable information about career readiness skills and is an important part of our school’s commitment to preparing students for success after graduation.
The ACT WorkKeys assessment will take place on Tuesday, November 4th, from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Individual room assignments will be emailed directly to students prior to the test date.
Students participating in the assessment will be excused from the classes they miss during this time. However, it is the student’s responsibility to reach out to their teachers in advance to make arrangements for any missed assignments or classwork.
If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Volk at adam.volk@lincoln.k12.nc.us.
Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to your academic and career readiness.
Sincerely,
Adam Volk
Assistant Principal
North Lincoln High School

The NLHS PTO is wrapping up our annual Adopt-A-Staff program—and we need your help to make sure every one of our amazing staff members is adopted! If not all the spots are filled, we will be unable to roll out the program this year.
By signing up, you’ll “adopt” a staff member and brighten their year with small treats, notes, or tokens of appreciation throughout the school year. It’s a simple way to remind our teachers and staff how much they mean to our students and families.
How it works:
Sign up to adopt one (or more!) staff members.
Once all are adopted, we’ll email your match.
Drop off your gifts at the front office by the end of November, February, and May.
👉 Sign up today and help us show every NLHS staff member they’re appreciated!

The PTO hopes you are off to a wonderful 2025-2026 school year. We invite you to join the PTO this year. The goals for this year will include purchasing technology items (10 more Newline Interactive Smart TVs for classrooms, main lobby and the cafeteria), changing out 4 more of the water fountains to be fountains plus water refillable bottle stations, as well as loving on the staff with meals or a little treat every month. We have A LOT we would like to accomplish and need YOUR help! Follow this link to sign up today!
What else does the PTO do at NLHS? The PTO hosts breakfast and lunches regularly for the staff, provides breakfast for the seniors during graduation rehearsal and snacks on free college application day, works with departments to fulfill classroom wish lists, and creates staff care packages that include the staff at the School of Technology and Asbury Academy.
There are many ways to help the Knights PTO. Join our team! Your membership fee helps promote a school environment where the staff can do their best work and students can do their best learning, allows you to vote at general meetings, gives you a partnership with the school, and you can participate in hospitality that shows our staff how much we appreciate them.
Your child could also receive a $500 scholarship by you being a member of the PTO! Each year that membership dues are paid, your student’s name is entered into a drawing of their senior year for a chance to win one of two $500 Scholarships.
