We hope you have had a great week families! We have a full week next week so please see below for some updates!
Book Fair begins on Monday 2/23. Due to the nationwide penny shortage, we will be rounding up all cash purchases to the nearest nickel. We apologize for any inconvenience. Our Family Morning at the Bookfair will be Friday 2/27 at 7:30.
All Pro Dad is also Friday, 2/27- with doors opening at 7am.
Tuesday, 2/24 is our PTO Chick-fil-A night! Consider eating at the Lincolnton Chick-fil-a from 5-7 and a portion of the proceeds will return to our school. Please mention you are with Pumpkin Center!
2nd Grade Biography Projects are due this coming Friday- just a friendly reminder! Mrs. Wayne and Mrs. Fulker's classes will also be participating in Safety Around Water this week- so please remember send in anything needed with your child.
If you signed up for the Charlotte Soccer Factory Soccer Club, it begins this Thursday and pick-up is at 4:00 behind the school.

Please do not forget there is no school Monday and Tuesday for teacher workdays. Progress reports came home today, so please be sure to review those with your child and reach out to your child's teacher should you have any questions.

This snow day definitely snuck up on us! I hope you are all cozy and well as you work on Remote Learning activities. Please be sure to turn those in as soon as possible when we return (which should be tomorrow!). Here are a few updated dates and information for you as we move into next week:
There will be NO Duty Free Lunch tomorrow (2/6). We appreciate our volunteers willingness, but feel it is important to not ask more of you as you've been home with students this week and last! The Valentine Gram sale will be extended through next Wednesday.
Progress Reports will still go home now on the 13th to give teachers time to update grades based on completed Remote Learning Assignments.
Monday also kicks off Love the Bus week and our Attendance Spirit Week (see the graphic attached!). A simple card or thank you for your child's bus driver goes a long way!!
February 16th and 17th are Teacher Workdays and No School for Students

Good Afternoon Parents!
What a wild week this past week was!? We are thankful we got to have students back in the building Thursday and Friday.
Teachers have sent home another remote packet just in case we happen to need to be remote again next week. Please do not have students complete the NEW packet until further information is given.
Remote packets from this past week MUST be turned in by this Wednesday, February 4th, to receive credit. Remote work is not optional as it is what counts as our instructional day. Thank you for helping us with this- if you have any questions about the assignments please reach out to your child’s teacher. They are happy to help give guidance.
This Friday, February 6th, is Duty Free Lunch for teachers. We appreciate our volunteers who pivoted to support our staff this week!
Chick-fil-a Night is Feb. 3rd from 5-7
Valentine Grams go on sale on Monday! Fill out the Valentine Gram and send with your money and PTO will distribute them.
Class Picture Day is February 10th.

Good Afternoon Eagle Families!
As you all have seen and heard, there seems to be some wintry weather headed our way! Teachers have sent home small packets of "remote" work to do just in case! Please do not have your student complete these until Dr. Allen, our Superintendent, has indicated a Remote Learning Day. Any information regarding school closures will not come about until Sunday. Let's all put our white crayons in the windowsills tonight and hope for a little more snow than ice!!
Below you will find an image with a short bio and photo of our new Kintegra School-based Therapist, DeShana Norris. We are thrilled to have her on campus to support the students of PCP and PCI. If you feel that your student might could benefit from school based therapy, please feel free to reach out and Mrs. Costa (School Counselor) can connect you with Mrs. Norris. Supporting our students' emotional health early on can be vital and so important to their overall health, well-being and of course academics.

Report Cards came home this past Thursday. If you have any questions regarding report cards or Benchmark reports, please reach out to your child's teacher. We are proud of the progress our students are making!

We have had a great three days to start the school year!! It has been great to see our students back in classes and learning already taking place! Our students have also been working on some goals for the new year for themselves and their classes. We call them WIGS- Wildly Important Goals as part of Leader In Me! If their class has worked on this, ask them what their goal is!
This coming week:
January 15th is National Hat Day and we are having a Hat Day Fundraiser! Bring in $2 and wear any hat (that is school appropriate). Also, Report Cards will come home on this date
January 19th- No School For Students- Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday

I hope you've had a great Holiday Season and are enjoying the last few days of break. School begins again on January 7th! Let's Be Proactive as Habit 1 states and set those alarm clocks, have those lunches packed, and be ready to kick-off second semester with a great start!
Please be sure to wash those bookbags, coats, and lunchboxes to help cut down on any germs. Also, teachers may request a few updated school supply items (crayons, etc.) since those were purchased for your child by the school to start the school year.

I hope your Thanksgiving was full of Gratitude and ALL of your favorite foods! We are excited to welcome students back for 15 days before our Holiday Break! Below are a few things to keep in mind!
Our iReady Math Diagnostic window opens tomorrow, December 1st. This is the mid-year benchmark to show student growth from August until now. Please encourage your students to do their best!
The Penguin Patch Shop opens tomorrow and will run through Friday! I have previewed some of the gifts students can purchase and I know our students will choose some thoughtful items for family and friends. Please don't forget to send money in a marked envelope that was sent home and who students are to buy for.
December 4th our Kindergartners will head to a play and our First Graders will be decorating Gingerbread houses as they work on a literature unit based on different versions of The Gingerbread Man!

It has been a full and exciting week- the 67th day of school (If you know, you know!), Thanksgiving celebrations, and lots of learning! We have 2 days next week and then will be out for Thanksgiving break from 11/26-11/30. Reminder: Please be sure your child is at the bus stop during the assigned time frame so that drivers are not holding up traffic. Also, it is very important that students are reminded they must remain seated until the school bus comes to a complete stop and do not walk up or down the aisles while the bus is in motion. Thank you!

We hope you had a wonderful Veteran's Day Tuesday! We are grateful for another great week of learning!
Here are a few updates and reminders for this week:
Yesterday was our last Soccer Club practice for the fall session. Please be sure you have transportation worked out moving forward on Thursdays. The next session will begin in February and more information will come home soon if you would like to sign up your child.
Our Canned Food Drive begins Monday! Christian Ministries supports many food banks and families in our area! Please consider donating canned goods or dry food items to this worthy cause! It will run through 11/24.
Our Cookie Dough and More Fundraiser pickup is still set for 11/19. Our current plan is to open pick up right after school and be available for pickup until 6pm. We will send out an updated text message if we are able to begin earlier or if that time changes! Thank you for being flexible as we are working with the delivery company to make sure all is on time!
November 21st: All Pro Dad (7am) and Duty Free Lunch For teachers. We could still use a couple of volunteers if you would like to sign up to help! Duty Free Lunch November
November 24th: 2nd Grade Field Trip; Progress Reports go home
November 26th-November 30th- Thanksgiving Break
December 1st-December 5th- Penguin Patch will be at Pumpkin Center for students to shop for their loved ones! Be sure to send cash and write what you would like for your child to spend on each person! This is such a fun way for students to take ownership of the gifts they wish to buy family and friends. Costs of items range from 50 cents to 20 dollars.

This coming Friday, October 24th is our Fall Festival from 4:30-6. It is going to be a Blast! We have lots of games, inflatables, food for purchase, a cake walk, Trunk-or-Treat and possibly even hay rides! You can prepurchase tickets or you can pay at the gate! We look forward to having some fun with you! We are still taking donations of wrapped candy, small prizes, and wrapped snack cakes. We appreciate the donations so far!!

We've had a great week this week! Thank you for your support of our Cookie Dough and More fundraiser and the Book Fair! We had an exciting time with the NLHS Homecoming parade as well!
The Infinite Campus Parent Portal will be closed from this afternoon (10/10) through October 15th. You will not be able to get in to Infinite Campus during this time.
Monday and Tuesday (10/13-10/14) are Teacher Workdays and no school for any Lincoln County Schools students.
We are still collecting candy and Little Debbie (or any prewrapped snack cakes) for the Fall festival! Thank you to all who have donated!

*Lincoln County Schools partners with United Way to help raise funds that are given to local organizations right here in Lincoln County. All money donated to Lincoln County United Way remains in Lincoln County. Our school will be holding a "Stuck for a Buck" fundraiser where students can purchase a foot of duct tap for $1 (or more) to tape Mr. Strait to the wall on October 31st. If you would like to participate, you simply send the amount of cash you would like to donate on October 31st and that will purchase your child's pieces of tape or Mr. Strait.

It's been another GREAT week at the Pumpkin Patch! Thank you for your attendance at our Parent Teacher Conferences. We believe that your child's education can't happen successfully without our partnership with you!
Our Cookie Dough and More Sale is still going strong! Please continue to sell to friends and neighbors and we will wrap up our sale on Friday October 3rd. Please be sure to turn in your packets on that date.
Also, as you are at the store, we would like your help in collecting wrapped candy and/or small prizes for our Fall Festival that will take place on October 24th. We also could use boxes of Little Debbie type cakes for our Cake Walk. Thank you for your help with this!
