Good evening S. Ray Lowder families. This is Principal Kelly Saine with your weekly updates and reminders. This week, we will begin our Surprise Egg Sale to continue to raise funds for our “Lions’ Den” multi-recreational playground project. Students can pay 25 cents as they enter the lobby each day to crack open an egg and see what prize awaits inside! The sale will run through Friday, April 11th in lieu of Fun Friday Fundraisers. We appreciate all those who have donated wrapped candy, small prizes, or cash to help support this venture and will continue to take donations throughout the next two weeks.
Please spread the word that we will have our PreK to Kindergarten transition meeting on Thursday April 3rd at 5:00 PM. All students who will attend SRLE for kindergarten next year are invited to attend for a brief introduction to our school. Also, please call the front office if you need assistance with the online registration for upcoming kindergarten students. Mrs. Hilton will reach out to parents of all those who are registered to schedule their kindergarten screening appointment for April 25th.
Next year, SRLE will join other LCS schools in cohort three implementation of the “Leader in Me” initiative. As part of this process, students in grades 2-4, parents, and teachers will be asked to complete a Measurable Results Survey to establish a baseline for our journey. Students will complete the brief survey at school while parents will receive a letter with a link to the survey. There is also an “opt out” portion of the letter if you do not want your child to complete the brief survey. We appreciate you taking a few minutes to complete the survey and value your input for your child’s education.
As a reminder, the LCS student transfer window is now open. If you have moved out of our district and would like to continue to stay at Lowder, please complete the online transfer form found on the LCS webpage. The Board of Education will approve or deny transfers based on current class size and space availability as well as students’ history of attendance, behavior, and academic standing. All approved transfers are valid until students transition to middle and high school but must be renewed each secondary level when living outside of those school districts.
As we enter into our final quarter of the school year, we will have our raffle to select our fourth nine weeks Car Rider Fast Pass students. Parents can purchase tickets for $1 each by sending money to school in an envelope marked “Fast Pass”. We will draw names on Friday, and our new Fast Pass winners will begin their car rider pick-up privileges next week. That wraps up our events for this week. I hope you all have a great evening, and we look forward to another great week ahead!
