Union Elementary

We love when hard work gets the spotlight it deserves! 🌟 What started as a Lighthouse Project quickly turned into something even more special. Our amazing School Resource Officer, Officer Neal, saw just how much time, creativity, and effort our students poured into their lighthouses and felt they deserved to be recognized in a BIG way! Officer Neal personally interviewed students, asking them to explain their design process, materials, and the history behind their lighthouse. After thoughtful conversations and careful consideration, he narrowed the field down to seven outstanding finalists. From there, our staff cast their votes, and we are excited to announce the winners: 🥇 1st Place: Nash Reynolds – Currituck Lighthouse 🥈 2nd Place: Leland Clinton – Bodie Island Lighthouse 🥉 3rd Place: Brooklyn Heafner – Old Baldy Lighthouse We are so proud of ALL of our students who participated. The creativity, research, and craftsmanship on display were truly impressive. Thank you, Officer Neal, for going above and beyond to celebrate our students’ hard work and leadership! Shining bright at Union Elementary! 🌊🦉✨

See flyer going home this week for Union PTO 2nd annual Prize Calendar Fundraiser. The prize calendar sales will be during the month of February and then we will have daily prize winners in March (announced on Union PTO Facebook page). Our goal is $7500 for playground shelter/table and window tinting. Please use QR code to purchase or complete order form sent home with students.

Union PTO Updates:

Union Staff Hot Cocoa Bar postponed again until Wed, Feb 11th. If you signed up to bring items, please bring them once school resumes.

Union PTO meeting postponed until Wed, Feb 11th at 730 AM in Media Center

Movies and Popcorn is scheduled for Thursday, Feb 12th after school, flyers went home last week. Please return registration and payment ASAP once school resumes.

❤️We are so thankful for our school counselor, Mrs. Thomas! She truly loves our students and goes above and beyond every single day for Union Elementary. Our kids are lucky to have someone who cares so deeply and works so hard for them. Thank you for all you do, Mrs. Thomas! ❤️
