What a great day celebrating our athletes at the Lincoln County Special Olympics last Friday at Lincolnton High School’s stadium.

The annual Spring Games brought together athletes from across the county for a day of competition, encouragement, and unforgettable moments, beginning with the opening ceremony and continuing through a full slate of events.

From the Parade of Athletes to every race, jump, and cheer from the stands, the energy on the field was unmatched. More than anything, the day was a powerful reminder of what makes this event so special—joy, determination, and a community that shows up to support one another.

We are proud of every athlete who competed, every volunteer who gave their time, and every school that helped make the day a success.

Students from all four of our high schools learning together at the Lincoln County School of Technology have completed the required hours and are now eligible to sit for the CNA exam next week.

This milestone reflects their dedication, compassion, and commitment to serving others. We’re proud of their hard work and can’t wait to see them take the next step in their journey.

Matthew Smith, a junior at East Lincoln High School, continues to make Lincoln County proud through his outstanding work in the American Legion High School Oratorical Scholarship Program. After earning a $500 award at the district level, Matthew has gone on to win the State of North Carolina competition.
