What a great day celebrating our athletes at the Lincoln County Special Olympics last Friday at Lincolnton High School’s stadium.
The annual Spring Games brought together athletes from across the county for a day of competition, encouragement, and unforgettable moments, beginning with the opening ceremony and continuing through a full slate of events.
From the Parade of Athletes to every race, jump, and cheer from the stands, the energy on the field was unmatched. More than anything, the day was a powerful reminder of what makes this event so special—joy, determination, and a community that shows up to support one another.
We are proud of every athlete who competed, every volunteer who gave their time, and every school that helped make the day a success.

Students in Mrs. Fedo’s class at North Lincoln Middle School are bringing science to life through a hands-on cow eye dissection. By examining structures like the sclera, cornea, and retina, students are able to connect what they’ve learned in class to real-world anatomy. Experiences like this deepen understanding of how the eye works and how its parts work together to make vision possible.

Local and state officials recently gathered for a meaningful conversation about the impact of the YMCA in our community and how we can work together to expand that reach.
The YMCA serves thousands of children, families, and seniors through childcare, afterschool, youth development, and health and wellness programs that help families thrive, support the local workforce, and strengthen community well-being.
This time together was about more than sharing information. It was an opportunity to strengthen relationships, highlight important work happening across our community, and hear perspectives on the needs of those we serve. #WeAreLINCOLN #CommunityPartnership
