💛 This Week in Leader in Me: Emotional Bank Accounts 💛
Students are learning about the Emotional Bank Account (from The 7 Habits)—a powerful way to understand trust.
Just like a bank account, relationships grow or shrink based on our actions:
➕ Deposits build trust
➖ Withdrawals break trust
✨ Important takeaway:
The impact of our actions depends on how others feel they’re treated. What feels like a deposit to one person could feel like a withdrawal to another—so understanding others matters!
💰 Common Deposits:
• Small acts of kindness
• Keeping promises
• Showing loyalty & keeping confidence
• Setting clear expectations
• Apologizing & forgiving
Take note on how your daily choices affect the trust you build with others—at school and at home!

🌟 This Week in Leader in Me: From Private to Public Victory 🌟
Students are learning how leadership grows—from Private Victory (being responsible for yourself) to Public Victory (working well with others). While independence matters, we live in an interdependent world, and true success comes from learning how to win together.
🤝 Habit 4: Think Win-Win
Win-Win means more than one person can succeed. No one has to lose for someone else to win!
🥧 Five Ways People Approach Life:
• Win-Lose: I win, you lose
• Lose-Win: I lose, you win
• Lose-Lose: No one wins
• Win: I get what I want, no matter what
• Win-Win (or No Deal): There’s enough for everyone—or we keep looking for a better solution
Look for solutions where everyone feels valued—at school, at home, and with friends.

We kicked off the new semester in style! 🎉
All 9th–12th grade homerooms visited the Flex Fair in the lobby or media center, where students explored the many activities and clubs available during Mustang Block starting next week.
Our Leader in Me Student Lighthouse Team has worked hard, along with staff volunteers in designing and leading an engaging, student-driven experience to allow for students to "Flex" their Mustang block time. From discovering new interests and finding ways to get involved, we hope there is something for everyone by the time we get this fully emerged.
Huge shout out to the Army, Marines, Navy, National Guard, Gaston College, and BLUM Inc. for also showcasing during this time for our Juniors and Seniors as other Enrollment, Enlistment, and Employment options!
We can’t wait to see our Mustangs get involved! 🐎💙
