Good Evening, Iron Station Family,
I hope you all have had a wonderful weekend. Today, we celebrate the incredible love, strength, and care of all the mothers and mother figures in our school community. Whether you're a mom, grandmother, guardian, or someone who gives from the heart like a mom does; you make a world of difference, and we are so grateful for you.
Now to bring you a few updates for this week and beyond. Students in grades fourth and fifth will take their Reading EOG on Tuesday, May 13th. On May 15th, our third, fourth, and fifth grade students will take their Math EOG.
Friday, May 16th, will be our Field Day! Also, our PreK Students and students in Ms. Kelly's room will have their Young Athletes Day.
All Library books for K-2 students were due last Friday and all library books for students in grades 3-5 will be due on May 16th.
Please note that May 22nd is the last day of school and this will be an early release day for students. Students will be dismissed at 12:00 PM.
We need to address concerning trends regarding school-issued Chromebooks. Recently, two troubling TikTok challenges have emerged: one encouraging students to "test" device durability until destruction, and another suggesting placing lead in charging ports to cause smoking or burning. Any student participating in these challenges will be responsible for the full replacement cost of damaged devices, face appropriate school disciplinary action, and lose technology privileges. We encourage parents to have serious conversations with their children about responsible technology use and the significant consequences of participating in such harmful trends. These devices are essential educational tools provided at considerable expense to our district. The proper care of these devices ensures all students have equal access to learning resources.
Thank you so much for being part of our Iron Station family. Have a wonderful evening.

Over the last several weeks, we have had a lot of issues with students being tardy. Instructional time is so important, and we want to encourage our students to be at school and ready to learn each day. We have a limited number of days left this school year, and we want to make the most of each one. If students have more than two unexcused tardies between April 22nd and May 16th, they will not be eligible to participate in Field Day. We appreciate your attention to this matter and working with us as a team to value your child's learning.
