Note from Nurse Jennifer:
Parents, we are approaching the season for sickness and I wanted to send a few recommendations that you can do to help us keep Rock Springs students and staff healthy.
If your child has a temperature of 100.5 degrees or higher please keep them home. The student should remain at home and should be fever free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medications.
If your child has been vomiting and/or had diarrhea please keep them home until it has been 24 hours from the last time the child vomited or had diarrhea.
If your child has been diagnosed with a strep infection. The child should be on antibiotics for 24 hours and fever free before returning to school.
If your child has a persistent cough, chest congestion, or discolored nasal drainage please keep them home until their symptoms improve.
If your child has red swollen eyes that are itching, draining pus, or have yellow crusting please keep them home.
If your child has a skin rash that cannot be identified please keep them home.
Talk to your kids about keeping their hands away from their face and good handwashing. Handwashing is the #1 way to prevent the spread of infection and it is such an easy thing to do!
If you have any questions or concerns about any of the recommendations please reach out to me via email: jpbeam@lincoln.k12.nc.us or by calling the school.
