Good afternoon, this is your Principal Mrs. Beam calling with our weekly updates.

Report cards will go home with all students on October 20 along with information about our upcoming Family Night on November 6th.. You will not want to miss this red carpet event!

On Tuesday, our kindergarten students will be going to Patterson Farms for their field trip. Please have your child wear a light jacket and tennis shoes.

Our Fall Festival is this Thursday, October 23rd, from 5:30-7:30pm. We would love to see our students dressed up and enjoying a fun night of games, food, prizes, and bouncing on the inflatable. Our PTO will be selling tickets for the food and activities along with some new school apparel. Both cash and venmo will be accepted during the festival. We are still accepting donations for individually wrapped candy for the event. If you would like to donate please send candy to the front office. We will have a kick-off event during the school day on Thursday to get our students excited about the fall festival. If your child brings in $1 to school on Thursday, they will be able to have some fun on the inflatable before the event that night.

We will celebrate Red Ribbon Week on the week of October 27th. We will have a dress up day each day of the week to celebrate a healthy lifestyle and being drug-free. The dress-up days will be sent out via social media, your child's classroom communication, and on our school website.

Both Fall Picture Day and 4th Grade’s Career on Wheels field trip will be on October 29th. Everyone will have their picture made for fall pictures, these will be used in this year's yearbook. Picture order forms will be sent home this week.

Congratulations to our 3rd grade students for having the best attendance for the month of September and earning an Icee Pop party on the playground. We are going to continue our monthly attendance battles throughout the year. Which grade-level will have the best attendance for October?

On Tuesday is S. Ray Lowder’s Goodwood Pizza Fundraiser. Please tell family and friends to visit Goodwood Pizza anytime between 11:00AM and 9:00PM on Tuesday and let them know you are with S. Ray Lowder. We receive a portion of all sales directly to our school!

On Wednesday our 1st grade students have a field trip to Betty G Ross Park where community service agencies organize and execute a day focused on safety for all Lincoln County first graders.

On Friday, is our next All Pro Dad event at 7:15 in the media center. We invite ANY family member to bring your student to this event.

Looking ahead, there is NO SCHOOL for students on October 13 and 14th for teacher workdays and report cards will go home with all students on October 20.

September is attendance awareness month. The grade-level with the highest percentage in attendance for the month of September will have a popsicle party on the playground at the end of the month. We encourage our students to be in the building learning each day.

On Tuesday we will have an open PTO meeting at 3:05pm for anyone interested in attending.

3rd, 4th, and 5th - brush up on your math facts and be ready for our fact battles to start this week!

Thursday is National Custodial Worker Recognition Day. Please make sure you say a big thank you to Mr. Don and Ms. Maria for all their hard work in keeping our school looking amazing!

October is also National Principal Month! Mrs. Beam makes our school a special place to learn and grow! Let her know how great she is with a big hug or a sweet card of appreciation.

Just a reminder that there is NO SCHOOL for students on Tuesday. This is a mandatory workday for our staff. On Tuesday we will have an open PTO meeting at 3:05pm for anyone interested in attending.

On Wednesday, our 5th graders will be going on a field trip to Catawba Science Center. All 5th graders need to be at school no later than 7:45am so we can begin to load buses at 7:50am. Also on Wednesday, our Kindergarten students will be traveling to Lincolnton High School for a “Building our Pack” event. Please send your child's permission slip back tomorrow.

Our school book fair will be held this week! Students can bring money and shop each day this week. There is no school on Tuesday but we will open the book fair from 3:00-5:00pm if you would like to come shop. On Wednesday, families are invited in to eat lunch with your child and shop the bookfair while you are here.

On Friday is our first Terrific Kids ceremony. If your child was selected as a terrific kid, they will have an invitation with details in their backpack

As a reminder, when waiting in the car rider line at dismissal please do not pull on the curb/sidewalk. The county has asked all cars to stay on the road while waiting on your child.

Tomorrow is International Dot Day - we invite our staff and students to wear as much polka dot attire as you can! Also, progress reports will go home with your students tomorrow.

On Thursday, our 5th graders will visit Lincoln County School of Technology where they will learn more about different career opportunities in our community.

🚛✨ Volunteers Needed for LCS MIDDLE SCHOOL Careers on Wheels! ✨🚛

Lincoln County Schools is rolling out the wheels for our annual Careers on Wheels mobile career fair at Lincolnton Middle on October 29th.

This exciting event gives 4th graders from Battleground, GE Massey, and S.Ray Lowder along with LMS 7th graders the chance to explore career pathways, ask questions, and even check out real work vehicles.

We’re looking for community volunteers who are willing to invest their time, talent, and vehicles. Help us inspire the next generation!

Setup: 7:30 AM

Students Visit: 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Wrap-Up: 1:00 PM

💡 What to Expect:

10–15 minutes with each class (conversation + Q&A + vehicle exploration)

No formal presentation needed—just share your career story, duties, and vehicle features!

Bring your work vehicle and expertise. (Optional: photos, tools, uniforms, small giveaways, etc.)

September is also First Responders Month. Officer Schultz has arranged visits from EMS, Fire, and Police throughout the month to honor and appreciate all first responders in the community. Our school wants to thank you all for your service.

Tuesday, September 9th our 3rd grade parents are invited to our Read-To-Achieve night from 6:00-7:00, where you will learn about expectations and requirements for your student this year. Please return the form to your child's teacher by tomorrow.

Thursday is Patriot Day which is a national day of remembrance observed on September 11 to honor the victims, the first responders, and all those who lost their lives during the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Please have your child wear red, white, and blue to school on Thursday.

Friday is our first All-Pro Dads program beginning at 7:15am in the media center. Any special family member may attend All-Pro Dads with their student. We will have light breakfast and focus on strengthening family relationships. We would love to see you there!

Our staff will attend a county-sponsored Leader In Me training on September 23, which is the district’s parent/teacher conference day. Your child’s teacher will reach out to schedule conferences with families throughout the month of September.

Looking ahead, progress reports will go home on September 15th and our school book fair will be held the week of September 22.

Lastly, we are happy to celebrate that S. Ray Lowder met academic growth for the 24-25 school year. We look forward to continuing to learn and grow together this year.
