Good afternoon, this is your principal Jordan Beam calling with our weekly updates.

September is attendance awareness month. The grade-level with the highest percentage in attendance for the month of September will have a popsicle party on the playground at the end of the month. We encourage our students in the building to learn each day!

Thursday is Patriot Day which is a national day of remembrance observed on September 11 to honor the victims, the first responders, and all those who lost their lives during the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Please have your child wear red, white, and blue to school on Thursday.

Good afternoon, this is Jordyn, a fifth grade student, and your Principal Mrs Beam calling with our weekly updates.

As a reminder, our doors open at 7:20 AM daily, and breakfast and lunch are free for all students. As we continue growing leaders, please remind your students that if they are able to open the door and get out of the car independently we would appreciate them doing so. This will help speed up the arrival process as well as develop student independence. Dismissal begins at 2:40 PM. If your student is a car rider, you must have your car tag and number visible. If you still need a car tag, please fill out the Google form on our facebook page or school website.

Our winners for our first nine weeks Car Rider Fast Pass raffle are car numbers 126, 161, 34, and 416. Starting Monday those numbers may loop around the bus parking lot to the awning at 2:40pm. Please wait until 2:40pm to allow our Pre-K staff to finish dismissal.

For arrival our Pre-K parents need to park in the front of the school behind the orange cone to wait on the Pre-K line to begin at 7:45am. Also, we are making a small change to our Pre-K pick up line and time so please listen carefully. Our PreK will begin dismissing at 2:15pm from the bus parking lot. Parents need to pull in the bus lot, loop around, and line the sidewalk/awning area beginning at the stop sign, circling around through the first painted bus spot. We will have cones and personnel out for the first week of dismissal to help with this new system. This will allow us to have all Pre-K dismissed from a central location before we dismiss remaining car and bus riders.

Also parents, starting tomorrow we ask that you do not come in and check your student out after 2:00pm. If you need to check your child out for an appointment or other reason we kindly ask that you do it before 2:00pm. Late check outs are causing congestion and confusion as students are transitioning from outside, packing up, and preparing for dismissal. We hope you understand that the safety of all students is our top priority.

As a reminder, the YMCA is also offering Before and After School Care at our school site. There is a link on the Lincoln County Schools homepage or our S. Ray Lowder Facebook to register students.

We are ready for another wonderful week of learning and leadership! Have a wonderful evening and we will see you tomorrow!

Tonight, Lincolnton High will open football season with a home game against Maiden. We encourage everyone to come out to support our Wolves! As we approach game time, we want to remind folks of our Lincoln County Schools' Fan Code of Conduct. Our focus should be on supporting our student athletes and watching them play the sports they love. Please make sure that language, behavior, and interactions with other fans, players, and officials are positive. The Code of Conduct also expects that all children under high school age are accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian over the age of 21. This requirement begins when spectators enter the gates and continues throughout the evening.

Please also be aware that spectators attending all home football games will go through security scans upon entry. These scans are designed to protect the safety of athletes, fans, and all in attendance. Please make sure to leave pocket knives, vapes, and weapons at home. Bags will also be searched.

Gates open at 6:00 and tickets are $8. They can be purchased at the gate with cash or credit/debit card or using the gofan app.

Good afternoon, this is your Assistant Principal, Kristina Davis, ready for a great week ahead at S. Ray Lowder.

All kindergarten students will attend school together on Monday. Parents please do not walk your child in tomorrow. We will have plenty of teachers and support staff in the hallways making sure your child gets to the right place. Our Pre-k program will begin staggered days on Wednesday, August 20 and August 21.

On Wednesday the Boy Scout Leaders will visit each classroom with a brief overview of information. If your student is interested in joining boy scouts, there will be a parent meeting on Thursday at 6:30pm in the media center.

Also on Thursday, all 3rd grade students will take the beginning of grade reading test. The purpose of the BOG Test in North Carolina is to establish a baseline measure of third-grade students' reading skills at the start of the school year. This baseline is crucial for assessing individual student growth and for informing instructional decisions throughout the year. It also plays a key role in the state's Read to Achieve program, aiming to ensure all students are reading at or above grade level by the end of third grade. Please make sure your child gets a good night's rest and is on time for school Thursday.

As a reminder, our doors open at 7:20 AM daily, and breakfast and lunch are free for all students. Dismissal begins at 2:40 PM. If your student is a car rider, you must have your car tag and number visible in the line to make dismissal as smooth as possible. If you still need a car tag, please fill out the Google form on our facebook page or school website. Bus riders, please be flexible with our drivers for the next few weeks. Buses can come 15 minutes before or 15 minutes after your assigned pick-up and drop-off time. Please be waiting for the bus so they can get through the route as efficiently as possible.

The YMCA is also offering Before and After School Care at our school site. There is a link on LCS homepage or our S. Ray Lowder Facebook to register students.

If you are not connected to our school and your child’s teacher on Apptegy, please download the Lincoln County Schools app and contact the classroom teacher if you need assistance.
