Mrs. A's 3rd grade class practicing bus safety this week. They demonstrated the incorrect way to ride the bus and showed the correct way. They also practiced evacuating the bus in the case of an emergency.

Good afternoon S. Ray Lowder families! This is Assistant Principal, Jordan Beam, with updates and reminders for the remainder of the week. I hope you all had a great couple of days off and are excited to be back in the building tomorrow. This week is National School Lunch Week to promote the importance of a healthy school lunch in a child’s life and the impact it has inside and outside of the classroom. The week of October 21st will be our Red Ribbon Spirit Week with dress up days to remind us of the importance of staying drug free. Monday students wear all RED, Tuesday dress in western wear, Wednesday wear tie-dye, Thursday wear your favorite team attire, and Friday dress for your future career. On Thursday, October 24th we will host our PTO Fall Festival from 5:00 to 7:00pm. More information about this annual fun-filled event will be coming soon, but we hope families will begin sending in bags of individually wrapped candy or other small items to be used for prizes for the games at our festival. This event is always such a fun time for our school community and an important fundraiser for our PTO. As always, we greatly appreciate your support of your students and our school community. I hope you all have a great evening, and we look forward to another productive week ahead!
A huge thank you to Mr. Fraser who is a family member of one of our Lowder Lions. He took the time to visit our school to share his love of music through his bagpipes. He played for our students and taught them all about the instrument. We look forward to having him back!
