5th grade cardinals were dressed to impress yesterday as they headed out of the nest to visit West Lincoln Middle School. These cardinals will be spreading their wings soon enough and we want them to know how to make a positive first impression.

A note from Mrs. Grant: To celebrate the 100th day of school my class became secret agents! They were tasked to solve the case of the missing pencil sharpener. They had to complete 100th day missions. Each mission they completed, they were given a clue to help solve the case! It was a day full of fun and celebration that integrated all 8 habits of leader in me!

Middle School Registration for 5th graders is open. Please reach out to Mrs. Beard or your child's homeroom teacher if you have any questions.

Cooking supper is overrated. Plan to grab supper at Chic-fil-a on Feb 4th and support Love Memorial!

Mark your calendars. Not just dads. Any loving caretaker is welcome to join us for an informative program that celebrates your child!
Attention Parents and Community: Registration for children entering kindergarten will begin soon!
Mrs. Campbell's 4th and 5th graders wasted no time getting back in the swing of things.
A note from Mrs. Campbell: Students have been working on hexagonal thinking. Students connected ideas and expressed their thinking through discussion, debate, and writing. I am so impressed with the level of thinking and cooperation these students are capable of doing. I am so proud to be their teacher!

Congratulations to fifth grader, Maddox Huffman for his accomplishment as Love Memorial's spelling bee winner! Maddox will represent Love Memorial at the district level. Way to go, Maddox!

Today Mrs. Myers', Ms. Allen's and Ms. Williams' classes kicked off the week with Love Memorial's first Holiday Huddle. Students were busy constructing gingerbread houses while celebrating with their families and classmates. Some students recited their class mission statements and several sampled the sweet treats.

Mark your calendars!

Love Memorial students stopped by Central Services this morning to spread sweet Christmas Cheer 🎄🎶

Leader in Me Positive Office Referrals. These students were recognized by their teachers for demonstrating attributes of a leader. They have modeled what it means to be in charge of one's self and actions.

A note from Mrs. Grant: My class read the book, Balloons over Broadway and learned about the history of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Students created balloons of their own and then we had a parade of our own.

Last night 5th graders from Love Memorial were recognized for their leadership, hard work and dedication while running a school wide election that determined the new school mascot. Mr. Bess and Mrs. Campbell were also recognized with this group for providing the students with an engaging opportunity to learn about democracy.

North Carolina will award the Purple Star Award Designation to those schools that demonstrate military-friendly practices and a commitment to military students and families. Schools that apply and earn the award will receive a Purple Star recognition to display on the school premises. Love Memorial earned the Purple Star recognition for the school year 23-24 and is currently applying for the 24-25 school year. Our guidance counselor, Mrs. Beard grew up in a military family and has taken the initiative to assist with this process. As part of this commitment to students of military families, the students participated in a day of Purple Up.

On Friday, November 8th, Love Memorial celebrated Veterans Day with a school wide assembly that included the Presentation of Colors by West Lincoln High School JROTC Color Guard. Special guest speakers were Lincoln County natives and West Lincoln High graduates, Captain Shane Poole and Captain Billy Baker. Veterans from the area were invited to attend and were recognized for their service.
Students were given the opportunity to ask questions of the guest speakers and to thank all the veterans for their service as they exited the gym. All the veterans were gifted with student created cards and pictures .
