In 2019, The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction launched the Purple Star Award Designation initiative to recognize the state’s strong military presence and its support for military families.
The Purple Star designation is awarded to schools that demonstrate military-friendly practices and a commitment to military students and families.

The Wildcat Week in Review is a weekly content newsletter that showcases some of the learning opportunities that are happening at Lincolnton Middle School.
To review for the EOG, students in Mrs. Arrowood's classes have been working in stations with games that focused on various reading concepts. Students had to work together to complete tasks that also help them prepare for the upcoming test.

The Lincolnton Middle School music department dominated the Carowinds Festival of Music in both band and chorus! The 7th and 8th grade bands competed before Spring Break and the chorus competed yesterday.
All groups received Straight Superior Ratings at the Carowinds Festival of Music!
Awesome job Wildcats!








LMS 6th graders were excited to host a visit from New York Times Best Selling Graphic Novelist Orpheus Collar. Students learned about the process of researching, writing and illustrating the popular graphic novels which are based on the Percy Jackson and Kane Chronicles books.

Student leaders from the LMS Lighthouse Team and Beta Club volunteered time this week at G.E. Massey to help out with field day. Our students seemed to have just as much fun as the field day participants!











Our Beta Club members have been working to complete their community service hours. This week a few students began volunteering as “Reading Buddies” to the students in Mrs. Searcy’s class.

Sixth grade students are studying the differences in earthquakes and the types of energy waves each type produces. In seventh grade, students are learning to track genetic traits in organisms. Eighth grade students are completing their unit on ecosystems and are beginning a study of the earth’s geology.
