In 2019, The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction launched the Purple Star Award Designation initiative to recognize the state’s strong military presence and its support for military families. The Lincolnton Middle School music department dominated the Carowinds Festival of Music in both band and chorus! The 7th and 8th grade bands competed before Spring Break and the chorus competed yesterday. All groups received Straight Superior Ratings at the Carowinds Festival of Music! Awesome job Wildcats!

LMS 6th graders were excited to host a visit from New York Times Best Selling Graphic Novelist Orpheus Collar. Students learned about the process of researching, writing and illustrating the popular graphic novels which are based on the Percy Jackson and Kane Chronicles books.
