Social studies classes in the sixth grade are completing their unit of study on Ancient China. On Friday, students will enjoy a celebration of Ancient Chinese food and traditions. Seventh grade social studies classes are examining the question of whether or not bystanders are also guilty in times of genocide, such as in the Holocaust. In eighth grade students are analyzing the major battles of the Revolutionary War and also comparing the characteristics of the Loyalists and Patriots.


A yearbook is the best way to remember this big year. Don't let your student miss the chance to hold onto a year-in-the-life that won't be repeated.

In sixth grade ELA classes students are learning about heroes in preparation for an upcoming project about heroes. Seventh grade students are reading “Fever 1793.” Eighth grade students are reading and dissecting each stanza in the poem “Paul Revere’s Ride”. Ms. Olach’s students are practicing their inferencing and comprehension skills and also deductive reasoning. Mrs. White’s students are decoding words that impact the overall meaning, tone and mood of the short story “The Lady, or the Tiger?”

Our Wildcats are ending the semester with lots of holiday spirit to share with their community. As a culmination to a unit of study on diversity, sixth grade students have learned to sing and sign some Christmas carols. This week they visited our feeder elementary schools and LCS Central Services to perform. In addition to the community performances earlier this month, the eighth grade band, chorus and jazz band presented a holiday concert for the entire school on Thursday morning.

The Catawba Valley chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution paid a visit to the eighth-grade classes this morning. The presentation included a discussion of the significance of the Battle of Ramsour’s Mill and Lincoln County’s part in the Revolutionary War. The group ended the presentation with a musket demonstration.











The LMS Wrestling Team placed seven (7) members into the Tri-County Individual Conference Tournament, which took place last Saturday.
In their respective weight classes...
John Toscano and Kenan Odom ranked sixth (6th).
Adriel Spann and Zy Blandin placed fifth (5th).
Rocco Vickers finished fourth (4th).
Two wrestlers earned medals as Leland Gholami placed third (3rd) and Gabe Linder won first (1st) overall, completing his season undefeated with a perfect 13-0 individual record!
Congratulations Wildcats!


Congratulations to Rocco Vickers who is our Lincolnton Middle School Spelling Bee Champion! Bailey Coffie and Mariah Wingate placed 2nd and 3rd in the competition this morning.
Rocco will represent LMS inthe LCS District Spelling Bee on January 24.
Great job Wildcats!

In sixth grade science, students are learning about our solar system. Seventh graders are learning about organelles that are found inside plant and animal cells. They are making analogies of the organelles and the various components of a city. Eighth grade students have been reviewing all week in preparation for their physical science check-in.

Our band and chorus classes are busy preparing for their holiday concerts in December. The LMS and LHS bands will host a combined holiday concert at the James W. Warren Citizens Center on Thursday, December 5 at 6:00pm.
The LMS Holiday Chorus Concert will be at Emmanuel Lutheran Church on Monday, December 9 at 6:00pm.
In art, students are also in the holiday spirit. They are busy designing cards for the LCS Superintendent’s Holiday Card Contest.


They come in different sizes and grade levels, but yearbooks always contain your student's memories of that school year: the people, the clothes, the events and more.

Mrs. Scercy’s class has been busy creating beautiful handmade ornaments that are available for purchase! This is a wonderful opportunity for these students to practice important life skills. The students in this class would love for you to stop by, learn about their creations, and show your support - whether or not you’re planning to buy. Visitors who would like to support our class should check in at the front office. These creations will be available until Friday, December 20th.

In sixth grade math, students are learning how to calculate tax, tips and discounts using real world scenarios. Seventh graders are reviewing the distributive property and they are learning to simplify expressions. Eighth grade students are learning how to determine slope from a graph, table and two points.
