The state of North Carolina has released new attendance codes that our school will be using moving forward.
Please note: If your student is checked out early from school after 11:30AM, the early checkout will be coded as a 2P – Unexcused Early Checkout unless a doctor’s note is provided. If you provide a note, then it will be coded as 1P - Excused Early Checkout.
Please keep this in mind when making plans for early dismissal. A doctor’s note must be provided for the early checkout to be excused.

Today, we are shining a bright spotlight on our incredible custodial team! While National Custodian Day was officially on Friday, our calendar was packed with the 5th-grade Volume Zoo and our celebration for Beginning Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Russell. But we couldn't let the occasion pass without giving our custodians the dedicated recognition they deserve. Thank you, Mr. Rex, Ms. Sydney, and Ms. Jennifer, for everything you do behind the scenes to keep our school clean, safe, and welcoming every single day!

Our students who ride Bus 140 were celebrated this week for being the September Bus of the Month! We are so proud of their hard work meeting bus expectations and getting those bus shoutouts. Keep up the great work! 🚌

It’s National Principals Month, and we’re sending a HUGE thank you to Mrs. Burgin! We are so grateful for everything she does for our PCI students, families, and staff. Ms. Masters’ 5th Grade homeroom had the opportunity to read with Pumpkin Center Primary’s kindergartners in Mrs. Isoler's class! We love collaborating with PCP and fostering a love of reading through our Book Buddies program. 📚

Today, some of our 3rd graders in Art took inspiration from illustrator Charley Harper and began mastering the dry brush technique to begin a new nature art project. Final product... coming soon!
Last Friday, we kicked off our first All Pro Dads breakfast, and we had a GREAT turnout! We loved seeing so many important figures in our students’ lives joining us for breakfast, conversation, and time together. We’re excited to keep the momentum going! Check out the upcoming All Pro Dads dates for the rest of the school year below. We hope to see even more of you at our next gathering.
