In ELA classes this week sixth grade students are creating graffiti poetry based on anti-bullying poems. Seventh graders are using Jeopardy to review the novel Out of the Dust. Eighth graders are comparing the novel and the move, The Outsiders. Mrs. White’s students are writing short, amusing stories about their own lives. They are focusing on one specific event that made a lasting impression. Ms. Olach’s classes are working on character development and how characters change throughout a story.

Lots of events happening at LMS. Make plans to join us!

Mrs. Seller’s classes are excited to read Sylvia Doe and the 100-Year Flood, a fictional book about a devastating flood in Western North Carolina. A class set was donated by the author, Robert Beatty. Beatty has also made a pledge to donate 100% of the profits from this book to the WNC communities who were impacted by Hurricane Helene.
